Is there an good antivirus for free other than AVG?

Two good free ones are Avast and Active Virus Shield.

Active Virus Shield is new (made by Kapersky) and rated very highly in terms of detection, it checks for updates hourly- but it slows down the system a little more than AVG. I'm also a bit leery of the terms %26 conditions in their end-user agreement.

And Anish D's boiler-plate is about 3 pages too long :)

AVG is total JUNK. I recommend active virus shield. I use it and would never have anything else.
