just run avg it should update automatically.unless you have that function turned off.if so just click update.

and if you want it to automatically check for updates just click on service and select schedule daily updates.

right click on the avg icon on the taskbar and select ''check for update''.
if u have internet connection,simply click update within the antivirus main window,else download update files from avg website,take them to ur pc and again click on update,then choose update from folder.
AVG is not the only free AV. There are others.
